Dorothy May Miller was born May 20, 1931, in Hettinger, to Edwin and Lavina (Butterfield) Miller. She grew up on the family farm near Lodgepole, S.D., and attended country school there. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif., and attended Business College there. She returned home and lived in Hettinger, where she worked as a legal secretary for James Clement, Attorney at Law, for most of her adult life. Dorothy married Anton "Tony" Ihle on Nov. 27, 1956, in Hettinger. They farmed near Haynes and due to health concerns, moved to Fargo five years ago. She enjoyed traveling to Rapid City, S.D., and Billings, Mont., for shopping and sightseeing, coffee at the local cafes and always loved the country lifestyle, especially riding horse as a young girl. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Tony, Eventide Living Center, Moorhead, Minn.; her daughter, Jan (Glenn) Nelson, Horace; two grandchildren, Megan and Grant Nelson; her siblings, Joyce (Hugh) Thompson, Long Beach, and Bud (Shirley) Miller, Hettinger; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Caryl (Franklin) Pratt and Gordon (Naomi) Miller.
