Pond, 89, of North Bend died Saturday, June 4, 1994, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Dorothy McCoun was born March 17, 1905, in rural Wayne and lived in several North-central Nebraska towns before moving to North Bend in 1961. She was a homemaker and had lived at A. J. Merrick Manor since September 1992. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Orchard until leaving that community. McCoun married Christian Lieb Sept. 14, 1922, in Valentine. He died Feb. 21, 1931. She married William Paterson Aug. 20, 1932, in Neligh. He died Jan. 22, 1942. She married Bernard Pond Oct. 10, 1946, in Ewing. He died April 5, 1977. Survivors include two sons, Elroy Lieb of O'Neill and Lyle Lieb of Omaha; two daughters, Maxine Parks of North Bend and Darlene Karr of Fremont; a step daughter, Doris Thomas of Chamberlain, S.D.; 17 grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a stepdaughter. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. The Rev. Hiram Lilley will officiate. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight and 9–10 a.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.
