Dorothy was born April 9, 1927 in Douglas County, KS (southwest of Overbrook, KS) the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Schamle) Desque. She attended Lickskillet Grade School and graduated from Overbrook Rural High School in 1944. She worked at West Central Area Y.M.C.A. and Whelans Lumber in Topeka, KS. Read More	Dorothy Virginia (Desque) Goff Karnes, 89, of Overbrook, KS passed away peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016 at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, KS. Dorothy was born April 9, 1927 in Douglas County, KS (southwest of Overbrook, KS) the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Schamle) Desque. She attended Lickskillet Grade School and graduated from Overbrook Rural High School in 1944. She worked at West Central Area Y.M.C.A. and Whelans Lumber in Topeka, KS. She later worked for Tutcher Magic Gas in Overbrook. Dorothy married George William Goff on December 20, 1946. He passed away December 17, 1968. She married Marshall B. Karnes on July 3, 1974. He passed away December 3, 2002. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Michael Goff who passed away November 8, 1975; her sister, Irene Heberling and husband Carl. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Kay (Goff) Pudwill and husband Terry Pudwill; a granddaughter; and two nephews, Ron Heberling and wife Mary and Don Heberling and wife Jan. She also had other nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of Busy Bee Club; Richland Flower Club and a sixty-one year member of The American Legion Auxiliary of Overbrook, KS. She enjoyed baking, entered foods in fairs, loved flowers, gardening, camping, traveling, crafts and quilting. She taught sewing in North Osage 4-H Club. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Lickskillet School and American Legion Auxiliary and sent c/o Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
