She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, attended parochial school, and was a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed quilting with the ladies aide. She was a long time member of the Herington Hospital's auxiliary. Married Donald R. Hoover on April 12, 1948, he preceded in death on July 28, 200. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three (3) brothers (Dewain Wendlandt, Dallas Wendlandt, DeVern Wendlandt), a sister (Delores Leggett), and a grandson Jared Hailey (age 21 on March 3, 2005). She is survived by two (2) daughters: Janet Rindt (husband-Lawrence) of Lost Springs and Patricia Hailey (husband-Robert) of Lawrence, a son Kelly Hoover (wife-Melinda) of Lawrence, a brother Dennis Wendlandt of Herington, a sister Deanna Potter of Abilene, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family request memorials to the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Herington; and they can be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 South Broadway, Herington, Kansas, 67449-3038.
