Surviving besides his wife and four children are eight grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Harley Burton of Centerville; Otis Burton of Ottumwa, and Neal Burton of Washington, Iowa. Proceeding him in death were his parents, a brother, Harry and a sister, Edna Burton Neff. He is also survived by a host of good neighbors and friends who loved, him dearly. They had just remembered their golden wedding anniversary the day before his death. Most of his life was spent as a mechanic in Moravia, with about 30 years with John Veach implement business. Curtis and his wife Gail had just been baptized and joined the Grace Methodist church on February 10, 1963. They found a real joy in the study of God's word and in prayer. Curtis always shared a smile with those coming into his room even in the last hours of his life. Christ, had added a new dimension to his life. His strong faith helped him through the bitter pain of suffering. He was aware that he did not suffer alone. He had been taken to the hospital Saturday evening, his death comes following an illness of several months, Mr. and Mrs, Burton's golden wedding anniversary was Tuesday. Douglas Curtis Burton was born at the Hiattsville community on December 23, 1890, the son of Joshua and Matilda Burton. On April 16, 1913 he was united in marriage to Gail Hiatt. To this union were born four children who survive. They are William Harold of Moravia; John Richard of Waycross, Georgia; Bonnie Virginia Hiatt of Wheatland, Wyo.,Barbara Evelyn Ahee of St. Charles Mo. Surviving besides his wife and four children, are eight grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Harley Burton of Centerville, Otis Burton of Ottumwa, and Neal Burton of Washington, Iowa. Preceding him in death were a brother, Harry, and a sister, Edna Burton Neff. Time of services will be arranged as soon as the children all arrive. Interment will be at Hillcrest cemetery, with Rev.
