Description	:	Douglas Dean Teuber, 81, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. He was born April 19, 1934 to Henry and Viola Teuber in Huron, South Dakota. Doug met the love of his life, Norma, at a church camp. They married shortly after graduating Huron High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and then served in the South Dakota National Guard until 1970. Doug’s involvement with... Read More	Douglas Dean Teuber, 81, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. He was born April 19, 1934 to Henry and Viola Teuber in Huron, South Dakota. Doug met the love of his life, Norma, at a church camp. They married shortly after graduating Huron High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and then served in the South Dakota National Guard until 1970. He held SE Polk School District close to heart through his participation as a committee member and various volunteer positions. He enjoyed being involved in local and national political campaigns and was active in Altoona city government, serving on many boards including the Altoona Board of Adjustments. He was passionate of his involvement in his church to include 43 years with his church choir. Doug was a visionary and responsible, with the help of many volunteers, for the Korean Vietnam Memorial and the Veterans Memorial in Altoona. Doug’s passion and love for his wife, his children, and family was led by his examples in his daily life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Norma in 2013; parents; infant son, Martin; two brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Altoona Christian Church, 2890 1st Avenue S in Altoona followed by burial at the Altoona Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family who will use those funds to dedicate a bench at the Korean Vietnam Memorial in loving memory of Doug and Norma.
