Burial will be handled by Ferry Home of Nevada, MO and placed to rest at Cedar Memorial Cemetery at Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 10:00am on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. Burial will be handled by Ferry Home of Nevada, MO and placed to rest at Cedar Memorial Cemetery at Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 10:00am on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. Lila was born on October 12th, 1928 in Huron, SD to Henry and Viola (Bloodgood) Teuber. She was the fourth of nine children. Lila graduated from Huron High School in 1946. She married Orville Chenoweth and resided in Huron, SD for many years. They had 3 children, Orville, Sharon and Lyle. That marriage ended and she later married Walt Deneke who died of heart failure. In 1972 Lila married Richard Boss in Las Vegas and they later resided in Nevada, MO until her death. Over the 43 years of marriage, Richard’s job took them throughout the United States where they traveled weekends and purchased Presidential memorabilia. They collected over 7000 pieces which is on rotation at the Joplin Museum in Joplin, MO. They also collected many silver pieces. Lila was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker and had a knack for decorating and keeping a lovely home for her family. She was skilled in hand stitching and made many of her own pillows and drapes. She was a creative designer and came up with unique ideas to remodel furniture and did excellent reupholstering. She thought of many inventions to the delight of her family but never pursued a patent. Lila was always energetic and had a wonderful sense of humor. Lila is survived by her two sons, Orville Chenoweth (Jeanie Holforty) of Huron, SD and Lyle (Diane) Chenoweth of Florence, SD; two step daughters Georgia Deneke of Huron, SD and Lynda (Paul) Pels of Melbourne, Australia; 6 grandchildren Lisa, Charles, Ben and Dylan Stahly, Thaddeus (Jessica) Chenoweth and Chad (Michelle) Chenoweth; 6 great grandchildren; one brother Doug Teuber; two sisters, Phyllis Paulson and Judy Cockerham. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; daughter Sharon and son- in- law Tim Stahly; her parents; two brothers Larry Teuber & Glen Teuber, three sisters Connie Striech, Betty Cowing and Margie Bayer.
