He received a bachelor's degree in 1980 and a master's of business administration degree in 1987,both from Kearney State College in Kearney. He worked in manufacturing for 22 years and was plant manager forHornady Manufacturing in Grand Island. He also was a part-time faculty member for Hastings College, University ofNebraska at Kearney and Central Community College. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Minden,serving as finance committee chairman, and a member of United Methodist Men, where he served as president. He alsowas a member of the Institute ofCertified Management Accountants and earned the Certified ManagementAccountant designation in 1987. He was past president of American Production and Inventory Control Society forCentral Nebraska and became certified in production and inventory management in 2001. He was a member of Heartwell Lions Club and was scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 199 in Minden.Survivors are his wife; one son, Matthew of rural Heartwell; two daughters, Anna and Kathryn, both of rural Heartwell; and three sisters,Cindy Wilkinson of Denver, Christine Deter of Red Oak, Iowa, and Carole Glenn of Lincoln.He was preceded in death by his parents. - Rose Marie Brown Added: Apr. 30, 2008
