Read More	Funeral services are being held this afternoon for Dr. Arthur VanEman Donaldson, 67, whose death occurred at the Canonsburg General Hospital shortly before noon on Saturday. Dr. Donaldson has been in ill health for some time and his condition caused his removal to the hospital several weeks ago. His condition continued to grow worse until death came Saturday. Funeral services were being held this afternoon at the Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church of which he was a member of the official board for a quarter of a century. Hundreds of friends wended their way Sunday to his home, 300 West College street and the church was filled today by those seeking to pay a last tribute to a friend, a physician and an advisor and counsellor. Burial was in the historic church yard. Native of North Strabane Dr. Donaldson was a son of the late Dr. Donaldson was a son of the late J. W. and Belle Lyon Donaldson. He was born May 31, 1883, on the Donaldson farm at Gamble Station in North Strabane Township. He received his early education in the Township schools, later attending Jefferson Academy, Washington and Jefferson College and completing his medical education at the University of Pittsburgh in 1911. Following graduation from medical school he began practice at Avella where he remained until 1918, when he moved to Canonsburg and has resided here since that time. He was a lifelong member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church serving on the Board of Trustees for the past 25 years. In fraternal circles, he was a prominent member of the Masonic fraternity, advancing in the Scottish Rite to the 32nd degree, and to the Mystic Shrine. Long an officer of Co. H, Medical Company of the National Guard, he entered the Second World War in 1941 for active service in war preparation and continued in service until discharged April, 1946, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His service during those years covered duties as medical inspector and staging troops for overseas shipment at Indiantown Gap. Military Reservation, Army maneuvers in North Carolina and postwar service with the Veterans Administration at the Veterans Hospital in Aspinwall. Following his return to private practice, Dr. Donaldson assumed added duties in his field of work and at the time of his death was regular physician for the Pennsylvania Training School at Morganza and school physician for Chartiers Township School District. On April 8, 1914, he was united in marriage to Mabel Elizabeth Bryson, Toronto, Canada, whose death occurred July 8, 1919. To this union were born two children, William D. Donaldson, Canonsburg and Mrs. George E. Copple, Nashville, Tenn., both of whom survive. On January 31, 1936, Dr. Donaldson was married to Margaret T. Russell, Canonsburg, who died September 7, 1947. On August 2, 1949, Dr. Donaldson was married to Margaret E. Dickson, Canonsburg, who survives, together with the following brothers and sisters: W. H. Donaldson, Washington, County Superintendent of Schools; Mary and Bertha Donaldson, both of Canonsburg; Mrs. F. E.
