Description	:	Son of Jacob S. Gantz and Louisa Smith Gantz. Husband of Charlotte M Lang Gantz. They were married on June 15, 1892. Dr. Gantz was arrested in early February 1929 in connection with the death of a Brighton woman following an operation the previous January. Dr. Gantz confessed to his involvement, waived his right to a trial and subsequent appeal, and on February 8th was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison. Several Fairfield area newspaper stories at the time reported on the incident, arrest, and conviction of Dr. Gantz, but those reports are beyond the scope of this memorial. They can be found in the microfilm issues on file at the Fairfield Public Library, however. Presumably Dr. Gantz had been released from prison after time served, but where he died is not known to this contributor at this time. His grave (#8 in the plot) in the Gantz family plot is not marked with a headstone. He is buried next to his wife.
