Description	:	CHARLES JAMES BLANK, 53, EMERSON Charles James Blank, the only son of Dr. Lloyd Charles and Thelma Marie, was born June 24, 1935, in New Castle, Wyoming. He died May 4. He died May 4. In 1936, his family moved to Emerson where his father established a veterinary practice. C. J. attended the Emerson Public School, graduating in 1953 as Salutatorian of his class. He later graduated from Iowa State University with the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. While in college, he was a member of Cardinal Key, Honor Society, and Alpa Gamma Rho Fraternity. On June 6, 1959, he was married to Sandra Lynn Breeding of Malvern and to this union there was blessed with five children. C. J. and his wife moved to Emerson in 1959, where he joined his father's veterinary practice. Following the death of his father in 1960, C. J. continued to practice in Emerson until 1980-82, during which time he practiced in Idaho. In 1982, he returned to Emerson and resumed his practice. C. J. was a member of the Emerson Untied Methodist Church, where he served on the Nishna Valley Parish Board and various other committees. He was a member of the Emerson Community Club and the Emerson Masonic Lodge 378AF and AM. He was past worthy patron of the order of Eastern Star and served as a Rainbow Dad for Emerson Assembly of Rainbow for Girls. C. J. was a member and one of the organizers of the Smith and Wesson National Collector's Associating with members from the United States and abroad. Through this organizwio, his love for Smith and Wesson antique hand guns was able to be exemplified in his willingness and eagerness to share his knowledge with fellow Smith collectors across the U. S. He was also a charter member of the Missouri Valley Arms Collectors Associating and a member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He was a member of the National Rifle Association since 1960. C. J. was considered an authority in this field with many of his guns and information shared in magazine articles and gun reference books. His favorite pastime was traveling across the United States to attend gun shows. C. J. will be remembered as a devoted father whose greatest treasure was his children. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Charles Blank and his mother Thelma Marie Blank Welty. Survivors are his children, Lisa Michele Darby and husband Make of Carson, Lesley Camille Blank of Kansas City, Lloyd Benjamin, Josiah Charles, and Leah Lynn Blank of Emerson, and sister Lloydene Steen and her husband Richard of Emerson: 1 niece and 2 nephews.
