Description	:	At his home in West Pike street Monday, March 20, 1950, occurred he death of Dr. Charles L. Harsha, a practicing physician here for many years. Death followed a protracted illness and for some weeks his condition has been critical. Dr. Harsha was born in Washington county, the son of Thomas and Jane Welch Harsha. After attending the public schools in Washington, he entered Washington and Jefferson College and was graduated in the Class of 1897. After his graduation he taught school for several years and then entered Jefferson Medical College where he was graduated in 1902. Death followed a protracted illness and for some weeks his condition has been critical. Dr. Harsha was born in Washington county, the son of Thomas and Jane Welch Harsha. After attending the public schools in Washington, he entered Washington and Jefferson College and was graduated in the Class of 1897. After his graduation he taught school for several years and then entered Jefferson Medical College where he was graduated in 1902. Dr. Harsha was married to Lucille Greer Harsha, who survives him, with the following sisters: Misses Ella and Netta Harsha and Mrs. R. E. Steele; one brother, the Rev. J. W. Harsha, all of Washington. Dr. Harsha came to Canonsburg to practice in 1904 and since that time he has been an ardent citizen of this community and a leader in his profession as well as the civic phases of his home-town. He was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church as well as a constant member of Rotary, rarely missing a meeting until his illness. He was a member of the Washington County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Throughout his active life Dr. Harsha was an enthusiastic citizen of Canonsburg and his counsel and advice was sought by many aside from his professional service. His serious illness was watched with anxiety by his friends and his professional following and the word of his death, last night, was felt deeply throughout the city. Friends are being received at the Hinton and Griffith Funeral Home where services will be held Thurs day at 2 p. m. in charge of his pastor, Rev. H. Ross Hume.
