She was born June 19, 1915 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Walter and Ida (Ellison) Jackson. She graduated from Boston University in 1936 and from Tufts Medical School in 1940. She served her internship in Boston and her residency in pediatrics in New York City, where she met her future husband, Rufus C. Morrow, M.D., in St. Luke's Hospital. Morrow, M.D., 87, of Galveston and formerly of Shelburne, Vt., died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Galveston. She was born June 19, 1915 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Walter and Ida (Ellison) Jackson. She graduated from Boston University in 1936 and from Tufts Medical School in 1940. She served her internship in Boston and her residency in pediatrics in New York City, where she met her future husband, Rufus C. Morrow, M.D., in St. Luke's Hospital. They were married in 1945 in New York City. They moved to Vermont in 1951, where she practiced as a polio specialist and public health pediatrician for the Vermont State Department of Health and UVM department of pediatrics from 1951 to 1968. She served on the faculty at Champlain College from 1959 to 1968. In Vermont, she and her husband were best known for their work with "Project HOPE", traveling on a number of rotations before they decided to dedicate themselves fulltime to the project in 1968, and where they served until 1978 in Sri Lanka, Colombia, Texas and Jamaica. They retired to a medical practice in North Caroline from 1979 until 1987. Both she and her husband received honorary degrees from St. Michael's College for their work with Project HOPE. She is survived by two sons, Paul L. Morrow, M.D., his wife, Emily R. Morrow, and their daughter, Lillian "Lilly", of Shelburne, and Robert C. Morrow M.D., and his wife Ardythe L. Morrow, and their children, Winona and Justin, all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her husband, Rufus, predeceased her Sept. 8, 1987. Services will be private.
