Description	:	Funeral services for Dr J.H. Gasson, 80, of Shenandoah, formerly of Villisca, were held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Perryman chapel in Red Oak, with the Rev Guy JJ. Fansher of the Methodist church in charge. Dr Gasson, who had practiced medicine most of his life in southwestern Iowa, died Saturday of complications at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. Born in Carthage, Ill., March 14, 1869, Dr Gasson was the son of Thomas and Sarah Gasson. He came to Iowa in 1869 with his parents and lived in Villisca and later on a farm on the Page-Montgomery county line. He was a graduate of Iowa State College, Ames, and Creighton medical school, Omaha. He first practiced medicine in Missouri Valley but spent the greater part of his life practicing in Villisca, Bedford, Shenandoah and Red Oak. A member of the Methodist church, he is survived by his wife, three daughters, five sisters and one brother: Mrs J.W. Winter, Mrs Celia Dirrim, Mrs Guy Dirrim, all of Villisca; Mrs Vera Lewis of Elliott, Miss Myrtle Gasson of Stanton and E.E. Gasson of Stanton.
