Description	:	Richard Wayne Donovan, older son of Jerre S. and Lillian Donovan was born August 1, 1892, at Geneva, Neb. He departed this life May 1, 1924, at Kearney, Neb., aged 31 years and 9 months. His boyhood years were spent at Geneva, where he graduated from the high school in 1912. Read More	Richard Wayne Donovan, older son of Jerre S. and Lillian Donovan was born August 1, 1892, at Geneva, Neb. He departed this life May 1, 1924, at Kearney, Neb., aged 31 years and 9 months. His boyhood years were spent at Geneva, where he graduated from the high school in 1912. He was married June 18, 1913 to Miss Elsie Nicholas, a member of the same graduating class. The early part of their married life was spent at Lincoln, Neb., where Dr. Donovan attended the state university, receiving his degree in dentistry in 1917. His only brother, Donald Donovan, was also a member of the class of 1917, and shared his brother’s home during their college career. Dr. Richard Donovan began the practice of dentistry at St. Paul, Neb., where he remained two years, building up a good practice and making a host of friends, who deeply regretted his decision to remove in 1919 to a wider field at Kearney, Neb., where he continued practicing up to the time of his final illness, which was only of ten days duration. Dr. Donovan became a member of the Methodist Church in Geneva at the early age of fourteen, and ever continued a faithful Christian, transferring his membership to St. Paul and then to Kearney. He was always active in aiding in church and civic affairs for the upbuilding of a better community. He was an efficient worker in the Keystone Sunday school class. He became a member of the Masonic lodge at St. Paul and at the time of his death, was a member in good standing of the Masonic lodge at Kearney. He was also a member of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, and only daughter, Lillian Prudence, of Kearney; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Donovan; his father preceding him to the Better Land in 1894; his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Donovan, who is ninety-nine years of age; his uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. Waldo Propst; all of Geneva; an aunt, Mrs. Mary Talmadge of Momence, Ill., and his only brother, Dr. Donald Donovan and wife of Los Angeles, Cal., besides a host of other relatives and friends. “So live that when thy summons comes, to join the innumerable caravan that moves to that mysterious realm, where each shall take his chamber in the silent hall of death. Thou go not as the quarry slave, scourged to his dungeon, but sustained and soothed by that unfaltering trust approach thy grave as one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.” The Nebraska Signal May 8th, 1924 page 2.
