Rosewood --- Funeral services for Dr. William Albert Yinger, 79, a Rosewood physician for more than half a century, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Evangelical United Brethren Church here by the Rev. Roy D. Miller, of Dayton, a former pastor of the church, and the Rev. Howard Hahn, present pastor. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery at Careysville. Friends may call at the Reeder funeral home at DeGraff from Saturday until noon Sunday, and at the church after 1 p.m. Sunday. Dr. Yinger, who died in his residence about 3:30 p.m. Thursday after suffering a heart attack, would have been 80 years old Monday. He is the father of Dr. Starling C. Yinger, of Springfield. In December of 1954, the veteran medical man was cited by the Ohio State Medical Society for his 50 years as a practicing physician. Presentation of a service pin was made during a dinner in the Urbana Country Club given by the Champaign County Medical Society to honor the doctor. A native of Adams Township, Dr. Yinger attended the school at Rosewood, and later was graduated from Urbana High School. Before beginning his medical studies, he taught in a one-room country school in Champaign County for three years. Dr. Yinger, the son of William H. and Mary Jane Clark Yinger, was graduated from the Starling Medical College in Columbus in 1904, and in the same year, was licensed to practice medicine in Ohio. His entire medical career was spent in the Rosewood community where, for many years, he also was president of the Rosewood -Adams Board of education. In September 0f 1900, he was married to Minnie Cisco, who survives. Besides his son in Springfield, Dr. Yinger leaves a daughter, Mrs. Hall Runkle, of Fletcher; a brother, Edison D., of Millerstown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dr. Yinger was a member of the Ohio State Medical Society, the Champaign County Medical Society, and the Rosewood Evangelical United Brethren Church.
