Description	:	Dr. Zenella Morris Dies At 89 Years STOCKPORT — Dr. Zenella Morris, who practiced medicine for 60 years, died June 15 in Van Buren Countv hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 89. Death was due to a stroke suffered June 10. A native of Canton, Ill., Dr. Morris was born Oct. 3, 1864, the daughter of William D. and Elizabeth Saunders Nelson. She taught school in the Canton vicinity for ten years then entered the old Keokuk Medical college from which she graduated in 1894. Read More	Dr. Zenella Morris Dies At 89 Years STOCKPORT — Dr. Zenella Morris, who practiced medicine for 60 years, died June 15 in Van Buren Countv hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 89. Death was due to a stroke suffered June 10. A native of Canton, Ill., Dr. Morris was born Oct. 3, 1864, the daughter of William D. and Elizabeth Saunders Nelson. She taught school in the Canton vicinity for ten years then entered the old Keokuk Medical college from which she graduated in 1894. She practiced at Canton and Pekin, Ill., before settling in Stockport. In 1924 she went to Los Angeles to take a post-graduate course. On Feb. 3, 1897, she was married to Dr. Livingston Morris, who died In 1930. Their only child died in Infancy. Dr. Morris was a member of the American Medical Society, the Womens Medical Society of Iowa, the Van Buren County Medical Society, of which she was a past president, and the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges and the LLG Federated club. Surviving are two sisters: Dr. Edna Nelson, Oakland, Calif., and Sybil Nelson, Alhambra, Calif., and a nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnston of Stockport, with whom Dr. Morris had made her home for the past 20 years. Six brothers and sisters died previously. Last rites will be held at the Stockport Methodist church at 2 p. m. Thursday. The Rev. Roger Swearinpen will officiate, and burial will be in Spencer cemetery. The body is at the Burch-Catcott funeral home, at Birmingham. Burlington Hawk-Eye Gazette - June 17, 1953]
