Wilmot, age 87, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 13, 2010. Duane was born to the Union of Everett Frances Wilmot and Anna Pearl Goin in Albion, Nebraska. He married Mary Marjorie Scott in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked for the Union Carbide Co. in Whiting, Indiana, the TeePak Co. in Danville, Illinois, and the Midwest Carbide Co. in Keokuk, Iowa. He was active in the Society of Chemicals Engineers, Kiwanis International, George B. Verity Boat museum, and the Project Read. Duane is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Yuma; three sons, Quentin of Reno, NV., Kevin (Mickie) of Forsyth, Illinois, and the Reverend Dana (Jennifer) Wilmot of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Margie Blecher of Red Oak, Iowa, and Shirley (James) Meis of Elgin, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Angie (Brett) Thompson of Plainfield, IL., Kyle (Jennifer) Wilmot, of Lacey, WA., Kory Wilmot of Raleigh, N.C. & Erin Wilmot of East Lansing, MI.; 3 great-grandchildren, Cassie Wilmot of Lacey, Lukas and Lyvia Thomas of Plainfield, IL. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers, Otis A. and Owen B; sister, Ruby and grandaughter, Lauren Lynn. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church, 298 W. Third St., Yuma, AZ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Methodist Church or George B. Verity Boat museum.
