He served the United States as a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Antwerp VFW Post 5087. On October 26, 1957 Duane was united in marriage to Charlene Garman. Surviving him are a daughter Joan (Daryl) Minter; granddaughter Brandy (Brian) Nusbaum; grand son in law Ben Rager; great grandchildren Makayla and Nathan Sullivan, Addison Nusbaum, and Aubree and Kaitlyn Rager; a sister Vivian Baker. Preceding him in death are a granddaughter Kelly Rager and a brother Herman Gordon. Visitation for Duane will be Tuesday at Smith & Brown Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00. The funeral will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:00 with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Antwerp VFW Post.
