Description	:	Durward Frederick Waldusky, age 92, of Broadus passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus. Durward was born on September 3, 1918 in Charbonneau, North Dakota, the son of Ernest A. and Vera (Hopkins) Waldusky. He attended schools at Sand Creek and Doyle Creek Schools, getting their by horseback. He also worked for the state and helped haul the... Read More	Durward Frederick Waldusky, age 92, of Broadus passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus. Durward was born on September 3, 1918 in Charbonneau, North Dakota, the son of Ernest A. and Vera (Hopkins) Waldusky. He attended schools at Sand Creek and Doyle Creek Schools, getting their by horseback. After school he went to work for Charlie Hall moving sheep, at age 15 he trailed them from Little Powder River to Miles City. He also herded sheep a while for Otis Nisley. He also worked for the state and helped haul the pavement for the road between Miles City and Broadus all done by horseback. He later herded sheep for Lee Wilson, until entering into the Air Force. He was serving in the Air Force as a paratrooper on the 101st Airborne for four years. He landed on the beaches of Normandy on D Day. He was married in 1947 to Loraine Horgan. He loved his family and was very respected by all. After the Air Force he came home to the Broadstone place where he ranched. He built a lot of commercial fence around the area. Durward loved to hunt and loved his animals. Along with teasing his friends and family he enjoyed playing the accordion, harmonica, Hawaiian steel guitar and jews harp. Durward is survived a brother, Edwin Elkins of Gillette, WY; a sister, Aurice Jones of Broadus, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Loraine, a brother Don Waldusky and a sister Betty Sanburn.
