He was born April 5, 1885 in Hardin-co where he had spent his life. He was a member of the Ada Masonic lodge, the Roundhead K. of P. lodge and of the Alger Methodist church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Zoah Ewing; five daughters, Mrs. Roberta Allen of Kokomo, Ind., Mrs. Grace Barrett of Lima, and Evelyn, Camille and Carolyn, all at home; one step-son, Richard Krouscup of Muskegon, Mich.; one brother, Earl of Alger; a twin sister, Mrs. Elva Bixler of Lima, and two grandchildren.
