Description	:	OBIT: E. Homer Stewart, retired Ellensburg mail carrier, passed away in his home at 1203 N. Water last Friday at the age of 73 years. He was born May 21, 1893 at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and came to Ellensburg in 1904 with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Steven L. Stewart. He was married to Miss Clara Cahoon September 16, 1917 here in Ellensburg. He worked for Ben White on cattle ranches for a number of years and after that was employed at Ellensburg Post Office. He was born May 21, 1893 at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and came to Ellensburg in 1904 with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Steven L. Stewart. He was married to Miss Clara Cahoon September 16, 1917 here in Ellensburg. He worked for Ben White on cattle ranches for a number of years and after that was employed at Ellensburg Post Office. He retired after 28 years as a rural mail carrier in 1947 due to ill health. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Ellensburg and also Past President of the lodge. He was also a member of the Retired Rural Mail Carriers Association. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Clara of Ellensburg; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bradshaw, Ellensburg; Mrs. Elsie Rehn, Seattle, and Mrs. Helen Betts, Kent; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Willis Stewart of Culp Creek, Oregon, and Steve Stewart, who is in a veteran's hospital in Oregon; and one sister, Mrs. Roy Smith of Kelso. Funeral services for E. Homer Stewart will be held in the Evenson Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Reverend Silas Erickson will officiate. Burial will follow at High Valley Memorial Gardens. The family requests that those wishing to send memorials to send them to the Heart Fund, in care of Mrs. E. O. Erickson. Ellensburg Daily Record, January 10, 1967
