Description	:	The funeral for Earl J. Ring, 82, of Dickinson, North Dakota and formerly of Morristown will be held at 10:30 a. m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morristown. The Rev. Dennis Riss will officiate. Burial will be in the Morristown Cemetery under the direction of Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home of Lemmon. A rosary and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. He died Thursday, October 1, 1998, at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson. Earl James Ring was born August 24, 1916 to Warren and Frances Edna (Davis) Ring at Morristown. He attended Morgan School south of Morristown. He worked for the Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps and also herded sheep for various ranchers. He married Tibby L. Shillingstad on Ausgust 14, 1941 at Morristown, where they operated the pool hall. They also lived south of Wautaga where he herded sheep and near Lemmon where he worked for a cattle company. They also lived in several other places including Gateway and Glendive, Montana, where he worked in construction, operated a pool hall and worked in the horse business. They retired and moved to Dickinson in 1983. He had been in failing health since April 1998. He was a member of the Dickinson Elks Club, Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed training horses and playing pinnocle. Survivors include his wife of Dickinson and two sisters, Norma Walling of Wichita, Kansas and Dorothea Burke of Morristown. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
