Harvey, Swanton, was pronounced dead on arrival at Hampshire Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after he lost control of the semi-tractor trailer he was driving and it struck an embankment. Mr. Harvey, 47, was driving north on Route 28 just south of Augusta, W. Va., when he lost control of the vehicle and went across the road Into a steep embankment. Harvey, Swanton, was pronounced dead on arrival at Hampshire Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after he lost control of the semi-tractor trailer he was driving and it struck an embankment. Mr. Harvey, 47, was driving north on Route 28 just south of Augusta, W. Va., when he lost control of the vehicle and went across the road Into a steep embankment. The truck continued up the embankment and landed on its side. The left front portion of the truck was destroyed. Cpl. R. L Johnson, who investigated the incident for the West Virginia State Police, said it took nearly an hour to remove the body from the wreckage. A native of Swanton, the victim was a son of Mrs. Lena L. (Beckman) Harvey, Swanton, and the late Earl K. Harvey, Sr. He was a partner in Harvey Brother Farms, Inc., a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Joanna L. (Litzenburg) Harvey; four daughters, Mrs. Denise A. Perrine, Deer Park; Miss Debra L Harvey, Miss Sandra K. Harvey and Miss Bobbi J. Harvey, all at home; a son, Gary W. Harvey, at home; two sisters, Mrs. D. Lucille Hostetler, LaVale; Mrs. Fannie Mae Kolb, Accident; seven brothers, Calvin C. Harvey, Ernest E. Harvey and Douglas W. Harvey, all of Dillon, Mont.; Arthur R. Harvey, Boseman, Mont.; Fred R. Harvey, Naples, Fla.; Guy W. Harvey and Robert E. Harvey, Swanton. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home. Services are being conducted this afternoon at Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Haynes. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
