Description	:	Earl Leroy Durant A longtime resident of the Yelm area, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Providence St Peter Hospital, Olympia. Earl was born on April 11, 1914 in Idaho. Earl and Della, his wife of 49 years, were some of the early developers of the Yelm area, involved in building many homes and other structures themselves, including the building of the existing Yelm Seventh Day Adventist Church and School. Read More	Earl Leroy Durant A longtime resident of the Yelm area, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Providence St Peter Hospital, Olympia. Earl was born on April 11, 1914 in Idaho. Earl and Della, his wife of 49 years, were some of the early developers of the Yelm area, involved in building many homes and other structures themselves, including the building of the existing Yelm Seventh Day Adventist Church and School. Earl experienced many adventures in his life. One such adventure was exploring Alaska on his fishing boat. Earl also was an avid gardener, and was very faithful to the Lord and active with his church. He was involved in many charities and missions. He worked with the church Dorcas many years and helped with quilting and crafts. Earl had a heart of gold and gave so much to his family. He is survived by his stepchildren Jay Shenk, Joan Richman, and Dearah Hettick. He is also survived by 13 step-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Jack Ginn. He loved his stepfamily as if it was his own. Earl was just recently preceded in death by his lovely wife, Della Durant, who passed on June 13th, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Dr. Paul Shenk, and seven brothers and sisters. He will be missed greatly. We look forward to the day will all meet again in our Lord's Kingdom. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 1pm at Yelm Cemetery, Yelm, WA.
