Description	:	m: Charles Henry Shenk (1909-1992) Della LaDora Durant, a long time resident of the Yelm area, died Monday, June 13 at her home in Yelm. Della was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Okanogan. She and Earl, her husband of 49 years, were some of the early developers of Yelm, involved in building many homes and other structures themselves, including the building of the existing Yelm Seventh Day Adventist Church and school. Read More	m: Charles Henry Shenk (1909-1992) Della LaDora Durant, a long time resident of the Yelm area, died Monday, June 13 at her home in Yelm. Della was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Okanogan. She and Earl, her husband of 49 years, were some of the early developers of Yelm, involved in building many homes and other structures themselves, including the building of the existing Yelm Seventh Day Adventist Church and school. Della experienced many adventures in her life. One such adventure was exploring on their fishing boat. Della also was an avid gardener and was very faithful to the Lord and active with her church. She was involved in many charities and missions. She worked with the church Dorcas for many years, loved quilting and crafts. She is survived by her husband, Earl Durant; sister, Cora Winslow; children Jay Shenk, Joan Richman and Dearah Hettick; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Her son, Dr. Paul Shenk preceded her in death. She will be missed greatly. We look forward to the day we will all meet again in our Lord's Kingdom.
