Obituary Earl Owen Sigler was born August 2, 1903 and passed away August 19, 1951 at the age of 48 years, seven days. He was receiving treatment at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines when he died. His illness, although of long duration, did not keep him from working. He was a busy man and did not complain. Earl took up the standard of his country and served several years in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He had been employed for the past several years as a mechanic at Clark Motors. Besides his wife, Iola, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Vernie Sigler; two step-daughters, Wanda and Beverly Neilson, four step sons, Don, Wayne, Charles and Darrell Wagner; three brothers, Fred of Coon Rapids, Belmont of Cooper and Neal of Ft. Worth, Texas; six sisters, Mrs. Helen Conner, of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Eunice Hupp of Glidden, Mrs. Isabel Lloyd and Mrs. Ella Sapp of Scranton, Mrs. LaVerne Henning of Jefferson and Mrs. Effie Baugh of Des Moines. Earl had a jolly spirit and was happy in his work. A great host of friends mourn his passing. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. John Meggison, Albert and Janice of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Don Wagner of Atlantic, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Sigler and children of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Strahl of Audubon and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Scott of Audubon.
