Read More	Earl Hall, Jr. Died In Baltimore Passed Away At Hospital Last Thursday Morning Funeral Services Were Held Sunday Earl Hall, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Hall, of Lawsonia, died at the University Hospital, Baltimore, Thursday morning of last week, following the removal of a tumor on the brain about seven weeks before. Earl had been in poor health for some time and last summer was taken to Baltimore to have his tonsils removed. The surgeon, however, discovered that he was suffering from more serious trouble and an X-ray examination showed a growth in the back of his head. He returned to his home and later had his tonsils removed by a local surgeon. He showed slight improvement for a while and then his condition became worse and he was taken to the University Hospital to have the growth, which proved to be a tumor, removed. The surgeon opened his head and treated the trouble but did not remove the tumor. There were signs of improvement, but this was only temporary and he was again taken to the hospital for treatment. This time the surgeon advised that the removal of the tumor was the only thing that could perfect a cure and only held out slight hope that this would be successful. However, the tumor was removed and the operation was thought to be a complete success, but his condition soon became worse and for a while he lingered between life and death. Sometimes there were indications that he might recover and this would be followed by sinking spells when it seemed that the end was near. This continued until his death. Earl was ten years old on January 21 of this year and was a favorite of all who knew him. He regularly attended Sunday School at Asbury M. E. Church, often being present when his physical condition was such that many persons older than he probably would have remained at home. His ideas of life and death were much more advanced than naturally would be expected of one of his age and he apparently realized what the life eternal had in store for him. Earl bore his suffering with remarkable patience and this was the subject of much favorable comment by those who visited him both at his home and in the hospital. He would often remark to those about him that he was trusting in Jesus and that His way was the best way. He frequently requested that the hymn of that name be sung for him and at time he would sing as much of the hymn as he could remember. He would also repeat the words, "When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there." To have one of such tender age taken from them by death is a severe blow to the sorrowing parents. The dark cloud that is hovering over them however, has a silver lining and through the gloom they can see with the eye of faith that better and brighter day when they will be again with Earl and this time there will be no separation, no sorrow and no bereavement. They have planted a tiny rose bud in the earth to bloom in the brighter world beyond. Funeral services were held from Asbury M. E. Church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. T. Rowlenson, assisted by Rev. H. D. Dukes, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, after which the body was laid to rest in Asbury Cemetery. The pall bearers were Ted Sterling, Joe Brittingham, Wilbur Ward, James Hinman, Benson Sterling and Billy Rayfield, members of Earl's Sunday School and Elementary School classes. The flower girls and boys were also members of the same classes. The services were attended by a large concourse of people as a testimonial of the esteem in which Earl was held in the community and as a token of sympahty for the bereaved parents and other relatives. The handsome floral tribute was also an evidence of this same esteem and sympathy. Besides his parents Earl is survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Sterling, four aunts, a cousin and many other relatives.
