Becker were greatly saddened on Wednesday by a telegram to her relatives that she had passed away at Denver on Tuesday night. She had been sick with consumption for a little more than two years, and about a year ago was taken to Colorado with family with the hope that a change of climate would check the malady, but the hope was never realized. She was taken to Colorado Springs at first where her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wilson, soon joined them to be near to do all that they possibly could in caring for her. For the past three months Mr. Becker's sister, Mary Becker, has been there assisting in caring for her and every thing that human aid could suggest was done. At times there was a belief that she was gaining, but those periods of hope were rudely shattered by a sinking spell that left her weaker than before and it soon became apparent that she could not survive. About three weeks ago she was taken from Colorado Springs to Denver, but the change in attitude did not prolong life for a brief period. The remains were brought back here for burial arriving here at 11 o'clock on Friday evening and the funeral will be held today at St. Jame's church and the remains will be laid to rest beside the grave of little Leona, whose sad death cast a sombre shadow over the home a little more than two years ago. Deceased was born in Tioag county, Pennsylvania, on September 27, 1869, and the Wilson family came to Iowa locating in Tama county in 1870. In 1882 they came to LeMars where she has since resided except that a portion of her early married life was spent in Doon. She was united in marriage with C. H. Becker in LeMars in 1891. There children were born to them, little Leona dying about two years ago, leaving two children, a boy six years of age and a little girl two years of age, to mourn the loss of a mother. The death falls heavily upon the husband who has sought to reclaim his loved one from the hand of death and the sympathy of the entire community is unitedly for him in his great bereavement. Deceased was a noble christian woman and since her residence in LeMars had gained the love of all who knew her. Mr. Becker's mother, Mrs. Anna Becker, of Clayton county; Joseph H. Becker and wife and Miss Sarah Becker, of Ackley, came here to attend the funeral.
