Eden Passed Away On Friday Funeral Services Were Held Monday; Burial At Sand Hill. Following an Illness of pulmonary tuberculosis, Ede Gerhard Eden died at his home in Wayne township last Friday night, September 22, shortly before midnight. He had been in poor Health since the early part of the summer a year ago, and was bedfast the past two weeks. Mr. Eden was a son of the late John and Margaretha Hanken Eden. He was born near Monticello, February 11, 1892, and was therefore 41 years, 7 months and 11 days of age at the time of his passing. He was confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church, by Rev. W. H. L. Schuetz. He was married twice; the first time to Anna Seehusen, December 9, 1914. His second marriage was to Mamie Schoon of Amber, December 17, 1930. Mr. Eden's entire life was spent in Jones county, with the exception of three years in Chiago, and three years in Denver, Colo. He is survived by his widow and one son by his first.marriage, John Henry Eden of Monticello, by a sister, Mrs. Robert Balster of Montlcello, and a brother, Henry Eden of Monticello. Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon, September 25, at o'clock at the family home near Amber, and at 1:30 at Zion's Luthern church in Wayne township, of whlch Mr. Eden had been a member. These services were in charge Rev. J. Willms, pastor of Zion's church. Interment was made at the cemetery adjoining St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church. These services were in charge of Rev. Paul T. Gutknecht.
