Obituary for Edgar Allen Fogle from the Gettysburg Times, Wednesday, January 27, 1960: "Edgar Allen Fogle, 74, Thurmont, died Tuesday at 10:45 p.m. at the Warner Hospital after an illness of six months. He was born in Thurmont, the son of Albert F. and Mazelle (sic) Six Fogle, and lived his entire life in Thurmont with the exception of seven years spent in York.He was a member of the Thurmont Evangelical United Brethren Church for over 50 years and also of the Men's Bible Class. He is survived byhis widow, Linnie (Keefer) Fogle; two daughters at home, Miss Margaret M. Fogle and Mrs. Arthur H. Spangler; also two brothers, James R., Frederick, and Earl T., York, and by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services from the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with his pastor, the Rev. Elmer R. Andrews, and the Rev. Bernard E. Fogle, a nephew, officiating. Friends may call after 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon for the viewing of the body. Burial will be in the United Brethren Cemetery. In place of flowers, contributions may be made for a memorial to be placed in the Thurmont Evangelical United Brethren Church." Warner Hospital in Gettysburg, Pa., after an illness of six months. He was born near Thurmont, a son of the late Albert F. and Manzella Six Fogle. He lived his entire life in Thurmont with the exception of seven years where he resided in York, Pa. For over 50 years he was a member of the Thurmont Evangelical United Brethren Church andthe Men's Bible Class of the church school. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linnie Keefer Fogle, two daughters at home, Miss Margaret M. Fogle and Mrs. Arthur H. Spangler; two brothers, James R. Fogle of this city and Earl T. Fogle of York; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Creager Funeral Home in Thurmont Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. His pastor Rev. Elmer R. Andrews will officiate assisted by a nephew, Rev. Bernard E. Fogle, Jefferson, Pa. Friends may view the body after two o'clock this afternoon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for a memorial to be placed inthe Thurmont Evangelical United Brethren Church. Interment will be in United Brethren Cemetery."
