Description	:	Miss Margaret M. Fogle, 88, of Walnut Street, Thurmont, died Saturday, Dec. 9, at Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa. Born Sept. 5, 1912, in Thurmont, she was a daughter of the late Edgar A. and Linnie Keefer Fogle. In 1919, the family moved to the home on Walnut Street, where Miss Fogle lived until the family moved to York, Pa. for five years before returning to Thurmont. Fogle, 88, of Walnut Street, Thurmont, died Saturday, Dec. 9, at Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa. Born Sept. 5, 1912, in Thurmont, she was a daughter of the late Edgar A. and Linnie Keefer Fogle. In 1919, the family moved to the home on Walnut Street, where Miss Fogle lived until the family moved to York, Pa. for five years before returning to Thurmont. She was a 1930 graduate of William Penn High School, York, Pa. She joined Thurmont United Brethren Church in 1925. She was junior superintendent of Christian Endeavor, children's director, secretary and treasurer of Otterbein Guild, Sunday school teacher in the Junior Department and a member of the church choir. Miss Fogle also organized and directed the Celeste Girls' Choir. In 1984 she retired as the church organist after 50 years of service, which began as assistant pianist in the Junior Department. She was also senior choir director for more than 20 years. In 1947, she resumed her study of the piano with Harold Reeves Yarroll in Frederick. Later she studied the organ. She had a 35-year career teaching piano in her home studio. She pursued an interest in genealogy, tracing all sides of her family, as well as tracing the Weller family who gave the ground and built Weller Church. Surviving are her sister, Marie F. Spangler and husband Arthur H. of Thurmont; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. There will also be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, until funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. at Weller's United Methodist Church, 101 N. Altamont Ave., Thurmont. The Rev. Ruth Ann Miller, and Miss Fogle's cousin, The Rev. Bernard E. Fogle, will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Weller's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 101 N. Altamont Ave., Thurmont, Md. 21788.
