Edgar Franklin Dandy was born in Odebolt on July 29, 1904, the son of William Franklin and Lydia (Brown) Dandy. He first moved to Schaller in 1907.
Edgar was in the lumber business throughout his working years. Edgar continued in this position until 1972, when he stepped down but continued as assistant manager until the lumber yard was sold.
He married Ella Peters of Alta at St. John Lutheran Church in Hanover on January 29, 1930. Edgar and Ella raised three children, Eugene, Kathleen and Darrold. Edgar was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and of the Schaller Community.
