Eddie was born July 29, 1929 in Sioux City, IA to Edward and Phyllis(Perrin)Hancock. Eddie's family lived in Sioux City, Pisgah and LeMars, IA and Ogden, Utah. "Eddie" Hancock, 85 years, of Fremont, NE passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home. Eddie was born July 29, 1929 in Sioux City, IA to Edward and Phyllis(Perrin)Hancock. Eddie's family lived in Sioux City, Pisgah and LeMars, IA and Ogden, Utah. Eddie enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946 and served during WWII. Eddie married Dee Lores Prochaska on June 28, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico. Eddie gained the experience to become a master mechanic. He was employed at Greenfield Body Shop, Buck and Barry Auto Parts and Welding and Frontier Oil. He drove truck for Little Audrey's Transportation Company and later was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He then worked for Christensen Body Shop, Grant Chevrolet and Diers Ford, as assistant service manager. He also worked for Murphy Auto Sales and Sid Dillon Oldsmobile. In 1977, Eddie took time off to build his own home. When his home was completed, he then worked for P & G Auto Parts, retiring in 1992. Eddie's hobbies included restoring Model A's and Model T's and vending at swap meets. Eddie was a past president and charter member of the Fremont Antique Auto Car Club. He was also a former village board chairman of the Village of Inglewood. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dee Lores; daughters, Judith ( Fred ) Heuerman of Fremont, Susan Hancock ( C. Thurman ) of Omaha and Kathryn ( Ed ) Rother of Papillion, NE; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (Don) Holt of Fremont and Sarah (Ron) Grunig of Newton, IA; and nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chester and Wilbur Hancock and sister, Irene Rosemary Baker. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev Michael McGregor of First United Methodist Church in Fremont will officiate. Visitation on Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM and Friday 10 AM to 11 AM, all at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or to First United Methodist Church in Fremont." Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
