Description	:	Edgar Young was born August 19, 1854 in Wills County, Illinois, the son of Henry and Charlotte (Mudge) Young. When Edgar was six years old, his parents moved to Iowa and settled in Boone County, where they lived for eleven years. They then moved to Audubon County and located on a farm in Greeley Township, where he made his home with his parents until 1881, when he was united in marriage to Clara Amelia Beers, daughter of Bradley and Hannah (Eels) Beers. Read More	Edgar Young was born August 19, 1854 in Wills County, Illinois, the son of Henry and Charlotte (Mudge) Young. When Edgar was six years old, his parents moved to Iowa and settled in Boone County, where they lived for eleven years. They then moved to Audubon County and located on a farm in Greeley Township, where he made his home with his parents until 1881, when he was united in marriage to Clara Amelia Beers, daughter of Bradley and Hannah (Eels) Beers. She was born in Audubon County on March 4, 1863. In 1882, Edgar bought 80 acres of land in Greeley Township and built his home there, later adding 82 acres to his holdings. Here Edgar and Clara remained until they retired to Exira in 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Young were members of the Federated Church in Exira. There were six children born to this union: Alvie Judson (who married Ella Floy Pennington)(they have 2 boys); Bonnie May (who married Samuel Wesley Donaldson)(they have 2 girls); Floyd Arlow (who married Grace J. West)(They had two boys and two girls); Bertha Ora (who married Herbert Wills Kitson)(they had a girl and a boy); Orvie C. (who married Minnie C.Beck); and Willis Edgar who married Ruby R. Luke) (they have a boy and girl). Edgar Young played his fiddle in their home on the farm. Edgar is buried on the Young Plot with the following people: his wife Clara, 4 Mar 1863 - 26 Apr 1922; Orvie C. Young 28 Oct 1890 - 22 July 1972; Willis Edgar Young, 10 December 1892 - 12 August 1976 & American Legion marker; Minnie C. (Beck) Young, 10 August 1897 - 4 July 1966; and Ruby Ruth (Luke)Young 30 April 1898 - 4 February 1983.--Source Audubon County Genealogy Society Cemetery Record Book: Exira Edgar's brother is Hiram Young, 109974078 Edgar's sister is Evaline Young who married Jake Hill. Records from ancestry.com indicate in the 1930 and 1940 census that Edgar later married Clara's brother's Sam's wife Ora D Herrick Beers.
