Edith's parents were Jesse and Rosie Henson. Edith's brother, Howard was their witness when they were married by a Baptist minister on November 16, 1937 in Pruden, Bell County, Kentucky. Samuel was really only nineteen and Edith was only sixteen when they married. The 1940 census of April 10 revealed Samuel was a miner and earned $1100 in 1939. They rented their home in Clairfield, Claiborne County, Tennessee. Samuel had a fifth grade education and Edith had an eighth grade education. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gibson; and son, Stanley Gibson. She is survived by her sons, David Gibson of Md., Dennis Gibson of Fl., and Marvin Gibson of LaFollette; daughters, Carolyn Andrade and Judy Bankart of Md., and Helen Miller of LaFollette; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Edna Moberg and Hazel Cobb, both of Jacksboro, and Lucille Noe of Ill. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 28, at Cross Chapel with Rev. Paul Heatherly officating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
