Edith was born on August 24, 1913, in Van Buren County, Iowa, to Ben and Ethel Stanley Giberson. She attended school and graduated from Stockport High School. On August 15, 1936, she married Donald Lee Mills in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1974. Mrs. Mills lived most of her life in the Hillsboro and Stockport area. Pleasant, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 18, 2002, at the Great River, Medical Center in Burlington. Edith was born on August 24, 1913, in Van Buren County, Iowa, to Ben and Ethel Stanley Giberson. She attended school and graduated from Stockport High School. On August 15, 1936, she married Donald Lee Mills in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1974. Mrs. Mills lived most of her life in the Hillsboro and Stockport area. She moved to Mt. Pleasant 1976. Mrs. Mills was a homemaker. She loved the farm life and enjoyed helping on the farm and doing the chores. Over the years, Mrs. Mills had a large garden and often canned the vegetables she had grown. She had worked as a housekeeper in the Fairfield area and had also worked for the Moore Nursing Home in Stockport, Iowa. Mrs. Mills loved animals and had been especially fond of her cat, Muffy. Mrs. Mills is survived by one son Donald Wayne and his wife Violet Mills of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. 5 granddaughters, Deb Hudson, Teresa Barnett, Krista Schwartz, Sherry Mills,and Carol Ruble;and 3 grandsons, Kevin Mills, Steve Mills, and Brent Mills. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Giberson and a sister Esther Keck. Burial in the Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Iowa.
