She was born March 2, 1928 in Frankfort, South Dakota to Ray and Fern (Liebig) Van Houten. Edith managed lunch rooms in both Missouri and Arkansas for Northwest Arkansas Vending. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for 42 years. Edith came to know Christ at a tent meeting revival in Texas. Read More	Edith Lucille (Van Houten) Glenn, age 88, of Springdale, Arkansas died Friday, August 05, 2016, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born March 2, 1928 in Frankfort, South Dakota to Ray and Fern (Liebig) Van Houten. Edith managed lunch rooms in both Missouri and Arkansas for Northwest Arkansas Vending. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for 42 years. Edith came to know Christ at a tent meeting revival in Texas. Both she and her husband Alfred 'Jack' Glenn went to the altar together. She had told how Jack's change was so great that it caused her to doubt her own salvation experience. They both grew tremendously spiritually. Edith and Jack were both very generous and open hearted people. Though they had little, they often gave what they had to help others. The ability to weather life's frequent setbacks is a trait which she, through her actions, instilled in her children. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Alfred Edward "Jack" Glenn; sisters, Ardis Manes, and Evelyn Turner; great grandson, Landon Shockley; sisters-in-law Dorothy, Louise, Barbara, and Wilma Jean; brother-in-law John Glenn. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Glenn Salfrank (and husband, Loren) of Duluth, Minnesota; two sons, Jack Glenn (and his wife, Linda) of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Chuck Glenn (and his wife, Zenaida) of Lincoln, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Pete Glenn (and his wife, Imogene) of Springdale, Arkansas; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Cemetery Hill Memorial Park in Farmington, Arkansas under the direction of Moore's Funeral Chapel. Procession will leave Moore’s Funeral Chapel at 1:45 p.m..
