Description	:	Word was received this week of the death of Mrs. Edith M. Ruppert, 75, Saturday, May 5 at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, as the result of a stroke. She had been in Des Moines for 15 months and previous to that time was employed at a nursing home in Lincoln. Mrs. Ruppert will be remembered as the wife of J.J. Ruppert, who was pastor of the Christian Church in Hebron and later in Chester. He passed away in 1951. Funeral services were held in Des Moines. Burial Tuesday, Chester, Nebraska. ====================================== Edith M. Wentworth was born Sept. 18, 1886 at Topeka, Kans., and died May 5, 1962 at Des Moines, Ia., at the age of 75 years. On April 22, 1919 she was married to John J. Ruppert at Nortonville, Kans. Two children, Mrs. Roberta Willis of Des Moines, Ia., and Don E. Griffin of Denver, Colo.; survived their mother, with four stop-children, Nellie Wood of San Bernardino, Calif., Laura Berry of Moscow, Idaho, Alberta Thompson of Lawrence, Kans., and Paul Ruppert of Concord, Calif. Other survivors include two sisters, Cora Worrell of Grant City, Ill., and Grace Botkins of Toperka, Kans.; five brothers, Herman, Fred, Earl, Frank and Ralph Wentworth; and three grandchildren, Joan Moody of Inglewood, Calif., Ralph Willis and Richard Willis of Des Moines; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 7th at the Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Paul Wickenkamp at the Chester cemetery (sic) at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8. The Rupperts lived in the southwest part of Chester a number of years ago, after his retirement as a Christian Church minister.
