Description	:	Edith May Pierce Webb was born in Oregon County, Mo. on July 23, 1888 the daughter of Tom and Ellen Pierce and spent her early childhood on a pioneer homestead in Douglas County and in Cabool, Mo. She graduated from Birch Tree High School April 26, 1907 and was united in marriage with Walter T. Webb, a teacher, that same evening in the presence of the members of the graduating class. Read More	Edith May Pierce Webb was born in Oregon County, Mo. on July 23, 1888 the daughter of Tom and Ellen Pierce and spent her early childhood on a pioneer homestead in Douglas County and in Cabool, Mo. She graduated from Birch Tree High School April 26, 1907 and was united in marriage with Walter T. Webb, a teacher, that same evening in the presence of the members of the graduating class. To this marriage five children were born; four of whom survive. Her husband preceded her in death in 1934. She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was baptized into the Christian faith in 1899 and has remained a devoted member of the Birch Tree Methodist Church throughout her life. She was a 67 year member of the Eastern Star Lodge and devoted her life to rearing her family and helping her husband with his work. She was well known as a friend, confidant and advisor to a generation of teachers in the Shannon County school system. In failing health, she has for the last few years been a resident of Birch View Manor. She will be remembered forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, a loving mother, loyal friend, and a good citizen. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 29 at 1 pm in the Birch Tree Methodist Church with Rev. Andrew Fowler and Rev. Truman Pulliam officiating. Burial was in Oak Forrest Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree.
