Description	:	Walter Don Webb, 92, passed away Sunday January 17, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. Mr. Webb was born on September 18, 1917 in Birch Tree, Mo to parents Walter Thurman Webb and Edith Mae (Pierce) Webb. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Victor Thomas, James Everett, Lowell Elwood (Hank), and one sister, Ruth Elizabeth Miller. Mr. Webb was born on September 18, 1917 in Birch Tree, Mo to parents Walter Thurman Webb and Edith Mae (Pierce) Webb. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Victor Thomas, James Everett, Lowell Elwood (Hank), and one sister, Ruth Elizabeth Miller. On December 8, 1945 he married Irene (Boulanger) Clause in Brussels, Belgium. She died in May of 2006. He also was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Alberta Y. Clause who died in May of 2008. Mr. Webb graduated from Birch Tree, MO. high school in 1935 and attended SE MO. State University in Cape Girardeau graduating in 1939 with a degree in business education. He taught high school in Risco, MO from 1939 until 1941 when he went into the military and served in the Army Adjutant General Corp for 5 years during World War II. In April of 1946, Mr. Webb and his wife Irene moved to the states spending time in Birch Tree, MO and Tulsa, OK before settling in Wichita, KS on June, 19, 1946. His step- daughter, Alberta, later joined them on July 3, 1949 in Wichita. Mr. Webb worked for the Wichita Post Office for 26 years, retiring in July of 1972. Mr. Webb was known by his family as a master story teller and with his sharp mind and keen memory he was able to tell remarkable stories of 'days gone by' up until his death. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially Diana, a loyal caregiver and a valued family friend. A military graveside service will be conducted in the near future by the Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO. at the Oak Forest Cemetery in Birch Tree, MO where his cremains will be buried in the Webb family plot alongside his wife, step-daughter, and his parents.
