Description	:	Edith Miller Billing was born to Leonard and Mary Risewick Rupert on April 26, 1891 near Courtland, and died Wednesday, December 11, 1991, at the Jewell County Hospital Long-Term Care Unit in Mankato, at the age of 100 years, seven months and 16 days. She went to school at Lincoln Grade School. After her mother's death in 1910, she helped care for her father and brothers. Read More	Edith Miller Billing was born to Leonard and Mary Risewick Rupert on April 26, 1891 near Courtland, and died Wednesday, December 11, 1991, at the Jewell County Hospital Long-Term Care Unit in Mankato, at the age of 100 years, seven months and 16 days. She went to school at Lincoln Grade School. After her mother's death in 1910, she helped care for her father and brothers. She married Albert Billing, May 23, 1912, at Belleville, and to this union two children were born. In 1917 the family moved to Sinclair township in Jewell County where they lived until her husband's death in 1972. In 1976 she moved near her son and entered Long Term Care in 1982. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1962. She was a member of the White Rock Methodist Church, Lovewell Methodist Church, and lastly the United Methodist Church in Courtland. She was a member of Lovewell Service Community Club. Preceding her in death were her husband, her daughter, Gertrude, son, Millard, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by: her daughter-in-law, Ruby Vignery Billing; three granddaughters, Mrs. Walter (Darlene) Smith of Mahnattan, Mrs. Merle (Joan) File of Courtland, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Bradrick of Mankato; ten great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 14 at the United Methodist Church, Courtland, with Pastor Suze Anderson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Courtland.
