Turner had passed away in the Centerville hospital where she had been a patient for a week. A bronchial cold which developed into pneumonia after she entered the hospital is believed to have brought on the heart attack which resulted in her death. Services were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the Turner Funeral Home. All Moravia business places were closed from 2:00 o'clock until 3:30. The attendance at the funeral was estimated at BOO, out-of-town friends coming from Ottumwa, Moulton, Chariton, Centerville, Udell, Blakesburg, Albia, Russell and Unionville. Members of the Moravia Rebekah lodge, of which Mrs. Turner was a member, attended in a group. There were sixty sprays of flowers. The Rev. L. B. Hawe, pastor of the Moravia Methodist church, conducted the services, under the direction of Carl Black, assisted by Irvin H. Reynolds of Sigourney and Dwight Humeston, Jr., of Albia. Mrs. George .Winsler, Mrs. George Firkins, Forest Main and Karl Tuttle sang "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and "There'll Be No Tears In Paradise," and Karl Tuttle sang a solo, "An Evening Prayer." Mrs. Fred Blumenstock played the piano accompaniment. The numbers had all been requested by Mrs. Turner. Pallbearers were: Bert Turner, Carl Black, Mervin Ellison, Emil Halden, Herman Forgy and Roy Ellison. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery. Obituary Edith, daughter of C. B. and Caroline ,T, Patterson, was born February 6, 1875, west of Lovilia in Monroe County, Iowa. She came to Moravia in 1896. She united in marriage to C. A. Turner, July 12, 1899. To this union were born three children, two daughters and one son. She is survived by her husband, C. A. Turner, by her daughters, Mrs. Bernice Ellison of Albia, Iowa, and Mrs. Pearl Black, now of Moravia, Iowa, and by her son, Bert Turner of Moravia; by seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren; by one sister, Mrs. Elsie Fall of Chicago, Illinois, and one brother, Elmer Patterson of Oskaloosa. Iowa; by a number of nieces and nephews. In early life she was converted and joined the Methodist Church, and- as long as her -health permitted, she was active in church work. She was an active member of the Moravia Rebekah Lodge, and also a member of the Kensington Club. For forty years she has assumed her portion of responsibility in the funeral work, entrusted to the firm of which she was a member. On Thursday morning, April 4, at 7:15 a. m. at St. Joseph hospital in Centerville, she suffered a fatal heart attack, which was probably brought on as the result of a weakened condition due to a heavy cold. She slipped away, to receive, the reward that she had justly earned.
