Kinch, who had lived in this community for many years, passed away Monday morning at the Phillips County Hospital. She was 86 years of age. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at the Holyoke Methodist Church, with Rev. J. Hubert Webben officiating. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. Edith R. Kinch, the first of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Conklin, was born on June 3, 1873, at Wyoming, Iowa. Her childhood was spent in Iowa and she was graduated from the Odebolt High School. She later taught school at Kalispell, Montana. On November 2, 1898, she was united in marriage to James L. Kinch at Kalispell, Montana, and they came to this community and established their home on a homestead 12 1/2 miles southeast of Holyoke. There they resided until 1918 when they moved to Holyoke. Mr. Kinch passed away in 1930. Mrs. Kinch became a member of the Methodist Church in 1896 and at the time of her death held the longest continuous membership of any member of the Holyoke Methodist Church. She was a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge for 50 years. For the past nine years Mrs. Kinch had been an invalid and had been cared for by her daughter, Mrs. John Siedenburg. The Siedenburgs had made their home with Mrs. Kinch for several years. Mrs. Kinch's family was her chief interest, but she also found much enjoyment in gardening and raising flowers. Surviving are two sons, Theodore Kinch, Holyoke, and Harvey Kinch, Berthoud, Colorado; one daughter, Mabel, Mrs. John Siedenburg, Holyoke; one sister, Mrs. Emmaline Show, Holyoke; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kinch was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, John LeRoy, who passed away in 1921, and Clinton Wesley, in 1950.
