Burial will be at a later date in Ellendale City Cemetery. Edith died February 12, 2015 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab surrounded by her family. Edith died February 12, 2015 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab surrounded by her family. Edith was born May 14, 1923 to Severin and Julia (Kleven) Nelson near Milan, Minnesota. She attended public school in Montevideo, MN Edith met Floyd Kendall in Dawson, MN in 1943 and they were married at Camp Roberts in California in 1944. They celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 16, 2014. They moved to Floyd’s hometown area of Ellendale, North Dakota where they raised their family. Edith was a loving wife, mother and friend to everyone that she knew. She was a kind and gentle soul who helped care for many people throughout her life. While in Ellendale, Edith worked in a dress shop for several years and then she and her husband operated Kendall’s Home Improvement Center where she helped decorate many homes. In 1985, Floyd and Edith moved to Aberdeen where she continued to live until the time of her death. Edith was a fabulous cook and she loved to bake. You were in for a special treat when you were invited to her home. She was an extremely talented musician, having taught herself how to play piano and organ totally by ear. She and her brother-in-law, Roger Kendall, played together as the Kendall Duo for many dances over the years. Survivors include her husband Floyd; daughter, Linda; sons, Kevin and Brian; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stanley and Ervin Nelson and one sister, Ruth Roberts. Adapted from Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory obituary
