She was one of five children. She died in Holyoke December 27, 1996 at the age of 89. Sylvia traveled from Nebraska to the Holyoke area with her family and they lived on a farm 11 miles southwest of Holyoke. She attended Lakeside School. On October 13, 1928 Sylvia married Charles Warren. Two sons were born to this union, Harold and Leonard. Sylvia was employed by Jim Evans, worked in a cafe, took in washing and ironing, and retired after working for 33 years as a retail clerk at Channer's 5 & 10. She also provided housing for high school students during the school year. Sylvia was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Holyoke and of the Ruth subunit circle of the congregation. Preceding her in death were her husband Charles, parents and brothers Harvey and Everett Struckmeyer. Survivors include sons Harold Warren and wife Doris of Dayton, Ohio and Leonard Warren and wife Pat of Holyoke; sisters Grace O'Neal of Holyoke and Ellen Johnston of Imperial, Nebraska; grandchildren Wade Warren, Deana Denney, Alan Warren, Patricia Nodzak, Donna Warren, Jerry Warren and JoAnne Wantz; 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Doris Ferguson of Holyoke and Helen Mayne of Yuma, Arizona; nieces and nephews. Services were scheduled for Tuesday, December 31, 1996 at First United Methodist Church in Holyoke with Pastor Jack Pedotto officiating. Interment was to be in Holyoke Memorial Park.
