Jan. 10, 1894, and departed this life at her home Feb. 26, 1960, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 16 days. Her mother, father two sisters, Effie and Mary, three brothers, Robert who died as a baby, Paul and Ulysses, preceded her in death. One brother, Arthur Bassett of St. Joseph Mo, and three sisters, Clara Godfrey of Fresno, Calif., Ella Shepherd of [illegible], Neb., and Anna Bassett of Lamoni, survive. She moved to Iowa in 1913. On October 5, 1914 she was united in marriage with Lilburn Ray Ford. To this union were born six children: Dorothy Palmer and Rita Day of Clarinda, Iowa, Emma Smith and Fredrick Ford of Lamoni. Robert Ford of Nashville, Tenn. and Arthur Raymond who passed away a few minutes after birth. Her joy and concern in life were for the happiness and welfare of her family and companion along with the sister Anna who gave tenderly and lovingly of her care throughout Mrs. Ford's illness. She was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of eight. She remained a true and faithful member to the end. Her belief and faith in her church gave much comfort in her last illness. Her devoted life and tender smile will be sadly missed by her companion, five children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and her three sisters and one brother along with a host of relatives, neighbors and friends whose thoughtfulness was one of her treasures. Funeral services were held at Marsh chapel at 2 p.m. Feb. 29 in charge of Elders Morton Edmunds and Clarence Heide. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
