Description	:	Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 20, 1944: Mrs. Edna E. Findlay, 54, wife of Grover Findlay, 237 North Moore street, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 10:30 a.m. today. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 39 years, was a member of the First Methodist church, the Army Mothers’ club and the Loyal Circle of King’s Daughters. Mrs. Findlay was born July 28, 1890, at Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.W. [sic] Burnett. She as married to Grover Findlay January 8, 1908, in Ottumwa. Her husband survives her. Harold Findlay, who is with the army overseas, and Robert Findlay, who is serving with the navy seabees in the southwest Pacific, and two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Evans of Albia and Mrs. Don Nicholson of Ottumwa. Four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. C.E. Goering of Cambridge, Neb., also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements. “FINDLAY SERVICES,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 21, 1944: Funeral services for Mrs. Edna E. Findlay, wife of Grover Findlay, 237 North Moore street, who died at the Ottumwa hospital Monday, will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Theodore H. Leonard, pastor of the First Methodist church, will be in charge. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery.
