Read More	Edna Wright 2-10-04 Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - Tuesday, February 10, 2004 Author: The Hawk Eye Born June 4, 1906, in New London, she was the daughter of William George and Elizabeth Marie Groene Walters. On Oct. 17, 1929, she married Everett William Wright in Mount Pleasant. He died July 22, 1997. Mrs. Wright was a homemaker. She also was a clerk at the former J.C. Penney's store in Mount Pleasant for many years and worked for several years at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She was a high school graduate of the former Pleasant Lawn School. She was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella of the church. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 2561, Women of the Moose and the South Center Club. For many years she was the housing chairperson of the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. Survivors include five sons, William G. Wright , Walter E. Wright and James E. Wright , all of Houston, Michael J. Wright of Austin, Texas, and John D. Wright of San Antonio; two daughters, Marianna Hackbarth of Houston and Martha Allen of Mount Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant and continue from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gathering Space in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and the family receiving friends until 9 p.m. following the rosary. The funeral Mass for Mrs. Wright will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nicholas J. Adam officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorials have been established for St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Midwest Old Threshers Foundation and the Pleasant Manor activity fund.
