Description	:	Edna Kathryn Kruse was born on September 6, 1918. Her parents were Herman William and Matilda Rene (Scheele) Naber. She was born in her parents rural home at Utica, NE located in Seward County. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Utica and baptized on September 22, 1918. She went to grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran Elementary and was confirmed March 31, 1932. She attended Utica Public High School for 2 years. Her parents were Herman William and Matilda Rene (Scheele) Naber. She was born in her parents rural home at Utica, NE located in Seward County. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Utica and baptized on September 22, 1918. She went to grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran Elementary and was confirmed March 31, 1932. She attended Utica Public High School for 2 years. On January 13, 1938, Edna married Harley Gerhart Kruse at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Utica. To this union was born a son, Gary Harley Kruse. Edna was a farm wife and homemaker. She taught Sunday School, was a choir member and member of the Ladies Aid at St. John's Lutheran Church, Waco, NE. For a few years Edna was a waitress at the Country Club in York, NE. She enjoyed doing ceramics and playing cards. In her and Harley's retirement years they would spend a few weeks during the winter months in southern Texas. Due to health problems their son moved them to Lake View, IA in 2003. Edna became a resident of Black hawk Life Care Center in 2005 and on October 29, 2012, she passed away there at the age 94. Those who mourn her passing include her son, Gary and wife Myrna of Lake View; four grandchildren: Jeff (Sherry) Kruse of Lake View; Julie Kruse of Carnarvon; Jerry (Della) Kruse of Lake View; and Jamie (Natalie) Kruse of Marshfield, WI; her friend and mother of her grandchildren, Faye Kruse of Lake View; two step granddaughters: Vicki (Chris) Rodgers of Fountain, CO and Kris (Paige) Busch of Springdale, AR; ten great-grandchildren: Nathan Kruse, Nicole (Juston) Ledger, Noah Kruse, Nichelle Kruse, Elizabeth Kruse, Meridith Kruse, Jacob Kruse, Michael Kruse, Shawndra Kruse and Christopher Nelson; four step great-grandchildren: Tom (Dana) Grafft, Sonya Grafft, Erin (Joshua) Wright and Andrea Busch; six step great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Silvia Staehr and Flora Stuhr; many nieces, nephews, and friends, along with the staff at Black Hawk Life Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harley of 67 years; her three brothers: Arlin Naber, Roland Naber, Raymond Naber and her sister Irene Naber; two step-grandsons: Rodney Obman and Scott Auen.
